Yes, I'm still alive. Sort of.
Just before the release of The Antithesis Book Three Beta, I found out I was pregnant. It was a pleasant surprise but I didn't realize how taxing the subsequent months would be in regards to my work as an author and also a clinical scientist.
I'd just begun the first book in my upcoming series, The Key of Ascension, in January of 2012, but as my pregnancy progressed my life became a blur of work, sleep, heartburn and swollen feet, and I was lucky to produce three paragraphs a week. Half the time I would just waddle through the front door, set my tote bag down, sit on the couch and then five minutes later I'd be snoring.
I finally made progress during my maternity leave, though taking care of a newborn and trying to finish a novel isn't exactly cake. The first month I would write during the day when he slept, but he started sleeping less and demanded more attention, and when I returned to work I could only write for several hours on Saturday nights because that was when my husband could look after Asher and I would be able to sleep in on Sunday morning.
But I kept to it, even through the exhaustion and the stress of a new family, and I finished the first book in April! Now we're in the heavy editing process, and we're set to release Meridian in August of 2013.
So yeah; life's been nuts. I apologize for the radio silence for so long, and to the people who have emailed me: I knew my site had come down and my facebook page had been deleted. I'd intended to delete The Antithesis fb page and recreate an author page instead (as I now write more than just The Antithesis), but I hadn't gotten around to making the page until recently. Same goes for the new site. Fear not, I'm back now.
I don't know exactly when but I'll be revealing the cover for Meridian and hosting a pre-release giveaway sometime in the next month or so. If you haven't yet, be sure to like me on facebook to receive updates on when the giveaway starts. There will also be a pdf preview of the first chapter available for download once the book goes through its final edits.
